Friday Favs

Friday, December 15, 2017

Happy Friday! I am so glad that we are at the end of another work week and Christmas is right around the corner. Ten days!!! Charlee will get to experience her first glimpse of Christmas tomorrow and I think the girl is seriously going to be over the moon. She has her Birthday Party for Jesus today at school that I can't wait for. Here are this weeks favs.
One. I purchased Charlee the cutest paci clip today that I can not wait to get in the mail tomorrow. They are running a sale right now on there Hart Braided Clips that are the daintiest  cutest clips ever. Charlee hates her car seat right now and has resorted to tossing her wubba nub across the car then screams until you give it back. Up until now I couldn't find a paci clip small enough to go through the tiniest whole that wubbas have.... HAHA Check mate girlfriend!!! Got YA! Check out this small business and purchase some adorable clips for anyone.... hello Christmas and Baby Shower presents.

Two. I finally broke down and signed up for Stitchfix. I have been holding out forever on this but decided heck why not. I have a problem where I will spend millions on baby girl something but then 20 bucks is way to much for me. I am hoping to get some good pieces that work on a daily basis to help make me feel better. Tell me what you experiences with them are?

Three. This week Charlee had her first dentist and eye appointment. She was a total rock star. Walked in chattered with the people in both offices and let them do what they needed to her. She did so good we were so proud of her. She is becoming quite the little lady.

Four. Yall Hobby Lobby has a lot of there home decor signs and wall art on sale right now. We are slowly decorating the house and we went by there this week for some First Birthday crafts.... well we hit the jackpot on home decor.

Five. My work shuts down next Tuesday and I only have to work two days for the next weeks. I am so excited to get a break and be able to do somethings around the house. I have decided to take Charlee to daycare a few days and get some stuff organized and cleaned up before the New Year.

Have a great Weekend Loves!

Charlee's First Birthday Inspiration

Wednesday, December 13, 2017

I have been dreaming and planning this little girls first birthday since she has been in the womb and now that we are four weeks away I thought I would share a little inspiration and give you a little hint on what is coming in a few weeks.

All of these can be found on my Pinterest board here. I think her party is going to be the best first birthday party ever!! The hard part of this party is that it is a winter party but the theme totally is her. She is a wild child who is never still. unless Doritos are involved. Yep she is my child.

Monday, December 11, 2017

This weekend was just what we needed as a family. We woke up to snow Saturday morning, which is Alabama like never happens. Winter Wonderland was amazing!!

We stayed inside most of morning to let it warm up a tad bit. Of course we let Charlee see and touch the snow. She enjoyed being able to relax and play inside.

We waited until later Saturday afternoon to get out on the roads since well most of them were closed including the interstate. We ran some errands and went to dinner with friends. After dinner we called it a night so we could put Charlee's tired self to bed. We stayed up and enjoyed the Christmas Tree and some adult tv.

Sunday we watched tv and napped most of the day and ended the day with delivery Buffalo Wild Wings via a delivery food service app. I say it was a great weekend.

Friday Favorites

Friday, December 8, 2017

Yay for Friday! We had such a busy week because J worked most of it. He gets off Saturday at 6a.m. and all day Sunday so we are hoping to get in some good family time. Here are my Friday Favorites for the week!

One. Invites finally went out this week for Charlee's First Birthday. I feels so real now. I feel like we are on crunch time now. I will be posting about my inspirations and maybe giving a few teasers next week. I can not believe in  five weeks we will have a one year old. Where does the time go.....

Two. Charlee went to see santa this past weekend and she did great!! Our neighborhood has santa come around on a fire truck then we all go to the clubhouse and take pictures. They go pizza, cookies, and blow up bouncers. We haven't gotten the pictures back yet but from what I saw they are going to be great. She just smiled and clapped. Which is good because the little girl in front of us lost her shit and I just hoped that this wouldn't be how my child acts. Like I get it your in some random guys lap... I get it kid... just smile and you can move along.

Three.  Speaking of Christmas we are going Christmas with J's family next weekend and I totally can not wait to see how Charlee reacts. I love getting to spend time with the family and it is so much fun for us all to get together. We play dirty santa and it really does get dirty. I'm not even gonna pretend that I am innocent J and I work together to get what we both want. Haters gonna Hate.

Four. We are gonna check a few things off our December list this weekend including finishing up Christmas shopping ( I only have one person left), making gingerbread cookies, and having a Christmas movie night. I will share more on our December bucket list next week.

Five. I am trying to figure out if I should cut my hair again or just keep growing it. It takes so long to fix and blow dry. I don't know... What do you think?

Have a great weekend!! Do you have any fun plans?

Christmas Wish List | Charlee

Wednesday, December 6, 2017

Ya’ll this mama is front row center on the struggle bus. I have not recovered from Thanksgiving and sleep loss (hello ten month sleep regression). #yourawitchwithacapitalb Since Christmas will be here in just a few short weeks I wanted to talk to you about Charlee’s Christmas List. I started shopping for her months ago because she was getting to the age where she was kind of done with her baby toys and need more challenging toys to help her learn and develop more. I settled on a few big gifts and some smaller ones that we can take in the car or on trips.

Vtech Sit to Stand Alphabet Train: This is a great toy that teaches them the alphabet and they can use it as a walker. Char loves to use her walker all over the house so this will be a great toy that we should be about to get a lot of use out of.

Leapfrog Shapes and sharing picnicBasket: When I first started looking at Christmas this popped up several times as one of the best gifts to get little babes. It teaches them sorting and stacking skills just to name a few things. I can’t wait to see her carrying this around the house.

Vtech Turn and Learn Driver: Char loves to get out of her car seat and pretend to drive when we stop anywhere. Let’s be honest she loves to not be in her car seat at all. I thought this may be a good alternative to take in the car to maybe pretend play on when she gets turned around later.

Little Tikes Light 'n Go Activity Garden Treehouse: This is a great toy that Charlee can use for along time. It has lights and music which guarantees at least twenty minutes of play until she gets distracted by something else.

4 in 1 Stroll and Trike: I don't know who will be more excited about this me or Charlee. We like taking strolls in the neighborhood but it sucks getting the stroller out and her being strapped in laying reclining. Big girl likes to look out and see the world around her so she should love this. And it later will convert in to a trike for her.

Of course we are getting her a few smaller presents. She loves puzzles and remotes/cell phones. I can't wait until Christmas gets here!!! What you are getting your babies?

Thanksgiving Week | Coffee Talk

Sunday, November 19, 2017

It's finally Thanksgiving week. I apolgize for my abscense lately.  This season of life has gotten so busy and it seems  as though time as slipped right by. If we were having coffee I would share....

*J is working so much right now and I am having to do a lot more myself than normal. He works crazy hours and I am by myself most nights until 3am. He will be out of the Emergency Room December 12 and will start a normal Monday thru Friday 8 to 5 job. I am so thankful this closer and closer. He is only off a handful of days now so we try to take advantage of them and spend time together as a family.

* Charlee's 1st birthday party planning is in full swing. I just go her invites back from the printer yesterday and I am in total love with how they turned out.   So much personally in such a tiny baby.

* The day after Charlee's 1st birthday she is getting baptized so those came back yesterday too. I am crushing over all the rose gold, pale pink, and white!!! OMG!

* I put up our Christmas tree Friday night after Charlee went to bed. It is so pretty. This year we splurged and got a new Martha Stewart tree from Home Depot. It is 9 feet of glitter, fake snow, and pine cones. So pretty!

* Making my Christmas list was so much harder this year than the previous years. I am having a hard time seperating things for me and everything for Char. I did ask for a bar necklace with her name on it. So pretty!

* I am on the lookout for some new Pinterest meals. I am trying to make one new meal a week. We are getting to were we eat the same thing over and over. If I left it up to J we would eat Mississippi Mud Roast everyday. I love it just not that much.

* Wednesday I am cooking two desserts and about six sides for everyone to come over and have Thanksgiving at our house. J has to work all day Thanksgiving so we are celebrating on Wednesday night.

What has been up with you guys??

Life Lately | Hallows Eve

Monday, October 30, 2017

Ahhhhh! It's officially Hallows Eve. Ya'll Halloween is my jam. Things have been a little crazy over here. Here are a few things that are going on over here....

~ Charlee had tubes put in Friday and since then she hasn't slept well. Her appetite  has increased a lotttt but her sleeping has decreased a lot. She is fighting going to sleep and waking up earlier. I have no idea if it is the 8-10 month sleep regression or the trauma of having surgery and waking up in pain with out momma or daddy there. Either way this girl better be glad that she is cute.

~ I am knee deep in planning Charlee's Birthday and Church Dedication. Charlee's birthday will be on a saturday and her church dedication will be the next day. So lets just say lots of cake and lots of celebrating.

~ I have another rent the runway ball gown coming next weekend and I am so excited to get all glammed up. This ball will be a girls night.. we are all leaving the husbands at home to party it up mom style.

~ We have decided since J has to work on Thanksgiving day to host Thanksgiving eve at our house. I am so excited to host Thanksgiving two years in a row. I love hosting parties and having people over.

~ I have a Matilda Jane show opening Friday night and I am so excited!!! I love helping people shop and purchase these adorable clothes.

Whats going on with y'all?

Friday Favs

Friday, October 20, 2017

Happy Friday Everyone! This week has been rough in our house. Colds and ear infections all around.... Well now that the week is over and we are now on the up and up here are some Friday Favs.

One. Today we have a full day of doctor's visits, haircuts, but the best is last. We are going to zoo boo at our local zoo. I am so excited to take Charlee to see all the animals and play in the pumpkins. She is gonna have a blast!!

Two. Speaking of pumpkins... as long as J is feeling better we will be taking a 30 minute drive to the pumpkin patch Saturday. It is going to be so much fun to see the excitement in Charlee's eyes. I sure do love this time of year.

Three. If you have been around my blog for some time that you know that I am a member of a ladies mystic society in my town. It is a hard thing to get into but once you do you meet the great group of women. It is fantasic for networking and getting to meet new women. Well this past we I had the great honor of being nominated to be on the board. I am so excited to take on new responsibilities and work up the board to maybe one day being queen.

Four.  This weekend we are adding soup to the menu since it has actually been in the 70s. I want to try a new soup recipe every week and I think this week maybe a nice tomato basil with grilled cheese. If you have any soup recipe that you love please share.

Five. Fall nails are in the air. I am loving these colors.

Do you have any plans for this weekend?

Bucket List | Fall Edition

Wednesday, October 18, 2017

October is here and is steadily passing us by. Every year I say that I am going to slow down and take in the Fall season but then every year life gets away from me. Well this year I really mean it. Part of the delay maybe that it is finally under 90 degrees here in Alabama. Even though we are back up to mid-eighties next week we are taking advantage of the temperatures this weekend. I decided to build the perfect FALL bucket list.

take a hay ride.

visit a pumpkin patch or more..

watch “its the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown!”

carve a pumpkin.

..and roast the seeds.

try a new soup or chili recipe once a week!

dip apples into caramel and other yummy stuff.

burn the yummiest fall candles I can find.

bake pumpkin bread and muffins.

go to a fall festival.

paint pumpkins + gourds.

dress our best for Halloween

go to the neighborhood trunk or treat

make a ‘thankful for’ list.

donate to the food pantry in preparation for Thanksgiving.

make pumpkin spice pancakes.

decorate our porch with mums and pumpkins.

bake a turkey.

stuff our bellies with turkey

Host our annual Thanksgiving lunch

Wear boots or booties once a week

Do you have anything fun on your Fall Bucket List?

Friday Favs

Friday, October 13, 2017

Hello Friends! I am so sorry for being away so long. Things have been crazy business at work and we still do not have internet. I work on blog post a lot at work at break and have been unavble to do that. So here we are Thursday night after Charlee's bedtime I am sitting on the couch watching tv and catching up on a post. I feel so bad for my lack of post here but I am getting it better. So here are my Five Favorites for Friday.

One. Happy Friday the 13th!! All things creepy happen today..... And only two weeks before Halloween.....

Two. Fall is my favorite time of the year and part of getting in the spirit is candles!!! I love fall candles and Bath and Body works are the best. I racked up when they were buy two for $24.00 a few weeks ago.

Three. I have been fighting a cold for about a week not but as of yesterday it turned into a lot more than a cold. I now have a horrible cough and had to get put on antibotics and steroids. I am hoping this kicks this cold and I start feeling better soon.

Four. Speaking of being sick Charlee also had to take trip to the doctor this week for being sick. Her eyes were draining really bad and she got clingy like she always does when she doesn't feel good. Well after a quick looked over Charlee has a double ear infection. We left with a precription and a ENT referral. We are having a consult for tubes and hope that this helps baby girl out. She hasn't gone a month yet without having at least one ear infection.

Five. All of my Halloween decorations had to come inside this past weekend thanks to Nate. So I have to take the time this weekend to put all the outside decorations back out. Halloween is my favorite so this has to be done by the end of the weekend if the weather would just chill out.

Checking In

Wednesday, October 4, 2017

Hey guys. Sorry that I have been MIA lately. We had a ransom wear attack at work where pretty much ever thing was taken and we could not even log on our computer. We will just say that it has been a rough month. Things have been moving right along with Charlee and she is growing more and more every day. I will be sharing a nine month update on her next week so show you guys just how big she is.

Monday, September 18, 2017

Happy Monday Friends! We had a great weekend full of friends, family, and way to many adult beverages. This weekend we attended the first of four balls of the season. I am a member of this society and had the opportunity to invite some friends that we haven't seen in quite some time. We all had our makeup and hair done and dressed in fancy formal wear for a evening.

After getting hair and makeup done it was time to get in our dresses, eat, then dance the night away.

My dress this year was a rent the runway. To be 100% honest it was so uncomfortable but at the same time it was different and I loved not having go to 50 places to find a dress. I am really worried about it fitting but it turn out to be perfect. Out of five people I was the only one able to wear the dress that they rented. One was totally see through, one zipper was broke, and two girls were not able to fit theirs. It was so a stressful experience not to know how the dress would turn out and I am still not sure if I would rent again.

Overall it was a fun night out and we had a blast just hanging out. How was your weekend?

Friday Favs

Friday, September 8, 2017

Yay for Friday! It has been a busy week and I am so ready for the weekend. After fighting strep all week I am finally on the up and up. Charlee still has some drainage and sick going on but she is starting to act like her self again.

One. Over the weekend I decided to treat myself to a Chemical Peel, dermaplane, and microdermabrasion. It was so great spend just one hour away from everything and just focus on me. I totally saw a difference with just one treatment too. My skin looked brighter and healthier with just one treatment. During pregnancy I had some skin darkening that hasn't changed. I talked to the person at my dermatologist office and we decided to do some laser treatments to correct that. That is my next goal.

Two. Last night we went to the third annual Burger Bash. This is a local burger competition that we have been going to since they started. It is awesome to taste burger's from all of the local restaurants.

Three. Ya'll in the South football is everything. We are kicking off the second week of football Saturday and I am pumped. My favorite thing to do Saturday morning is sit in peace, drink my coffee, and turn on the Saturday Morning Pre-Game show.

Four. Fall decor will be going up in my house is weekend. Pumpkins, Leaves, and everything else. Fall is my all time favorite and I can not wait to get the house ready. It just puts me in such a good mood. We finally got the dining room almost complete so the fall things will be sure to make it look extra special.

Five. I am on the lookout for a great foundation for oily skin. I need to know if yall recommend anything for me to try. I have done tarte, urban decay, and becca. I am looking for full coverage that doesn't weight you down.

Making Time For Yourself As A Mother

Thursday, August 31, 2017

"Why do women always put ourselves last? You think you're doing the selfless thing by putting everyone else first, you're actually sabotaging all your efforts by refusing to take time to fill your tank. You can't draw water from an empty well."  Emily Ley

I will be the first one to admit I don't spend as much time on me as I need too. I know this and reading this book Grace, Not Perfection really helped me understand that I do need to step back and take some time for me.I am a mother, I work full time, my husband works crazy hours including nights but you know what I still need to do things for me and only me. So what if someone has to watch Charlee for a hour for me to go get a pedicure or shopping.

When I became a mom I promised myself that I would not forget about myself but that quickly vanished when it came down to everyday life. I worked, I cooked, I cleaned, and by the end of everything I was to darn tired to do anything else for me. Part of me felt guilty that I worked so hard for this baby how could I not spend every hour of every day with her. But what I soon realized that one or two hours a week wasn't going to change the way that this sweet angel looked at me. I'm still her mommy and I will still do everything I can to protect and love her. One hour with her spending time with her grandma or friends wasn't going to do anything. That was one hour that I got to decompress, remove stress, and miss the stew out of her. Which makes coming home that much better for the both of us. She missed me and I missed her but most importantly I cleared my head where I can be a better mother to her.

There are simple things that you can do at home to relax and have time for yourself. Take a bubble bath, read a book, have a glass of wine while watching your favorite reality tv show, and the list goes on. Just spend time with yourself. Your partner and child will be fine for one or two hours.

How do you spend your time to yourself?

Friday Favs

Friday, August 25, 2017

it's finally FRIDAY! Charbear was up bright and early this morning. Which is probably why I am going on day three of dry shampoo. I should probably take care of that this weekend at some point. She is still fighting her little viral cold so sleep is not her favorite right now. Thank you daycare! Our weekend plans consist of a all day driving trip to eat dinner with J's uncle for his birthday and a trip back that same day.
One. To make Charlee's Birthday cake for her first birthday is no longer in business. This was very sudden and she didn't let me know about it before she just closed. Yeah I panicked when I went to go get a cake for J's birthday a few weeks ago and she was just gone. Vanished in to thin air... After a lot of tears and frecking out I finally found someone else who is able to make my dreams come true. Yes, I know that I have five months before it is time for that but those five months are going to fly by. Speaking of that I am happy to announce that Charlee is now 13lbs 10oz. I will be doing another post on that but I am so happy that my girl is finally gaining some weight.
Two. We hosted our monthly supper club at our house last weekend. Even though I did not get any pictures of anything I was so excited that we finally decorated at least one room in the new house that we have been in for ten months. We are completely changing the style of the stuff in our home. Before we moved in to this house most of our stuff just didn't have a theme. It was just bunch of stuff that we liked. Well now that we have our forever home I know that I want stuff to be more put together. So we tackling this project one room at a time. I think I want to make it a monthly thing. We redo one room a month. We are working on the dinning room right now and I am loving the progress. I will do a whole post showing you guys everything in there so get super pumped.
Three. Rodan and Fields. Guys my sister in Law just joined to be a rep. I of course have heard about it before but I don't know if I can bite the bullet and spend that much on it. I want here your stories and reviews on it before I purchase it? I have so many issues with my skin and it is so sensitive that I don't want to waste money on a product that won't work. Thoughts?!?
Four. Guys Zulily has been on point lately with there kids clothes. I was able to get Charlee 9 outfits for next year to wear to daycare for 35.00. I mean total outfits pants and shirts. I am so excited. They had a bunch of stuff marked down to 4.99. That's my kind of deal on daycare wear. I still like her to look cute when she goes but don't want to freak if she ruins a outfit. I mean she is a kid and she should be allowed to play and run around like the other kids. I won't be upset if she stains a adorable 4.99 outfit! Plus side note I scored a activity table for 30 something dollars that was even 80 on amazon for Christmas.

Five. So two weeks ago I gave my self a concussion. Yeah yeah I know. I was closing the trunk door when J went to talk to me and I turned his way and bam. I saw black dots everywhere and here we are two weeks later and the headaches are still there. I waited a few days before going to the doctor thinking maybe it would just go away. I am also still getting dizzy and nauseous. We are hoping that everything goes back to normal soon!! I go back to the doctor in a week to see if we need to do radiology procedures or not. Hopefully not!
Have a great weekend! Do you have any plans?

Life Lately

Thursday, August 24, 2017

I'm sorry that it has been forever since I have been on the blog. Life has gotten super busy and I had to take a little break from the blog. Charlee learns something new every day and I try to soak up ever second I have with her. She has another viral cold that she is fight now but we are hoping that she will be healthier going to school and build a little immunity to them. Baby girl is a whole seven months old and I don't know where time is going. In two short weeks she will eight months and thinking about that has this momma in tears.

// So what is new with us lately. J left the doctor's office that he was at and now works in the Emergency Dept for our local trauma hospital. He works a lot of crazy hours and we don't see him until late at night but we have hopes that this will change one day. It sucks for nights that I am at home alone taking care of Charlee but it is what is best for us right now. He misses her like crazy but they facetime before bed every night. It is the cutest thing ever.

// Charlee is none stop. The girl learned how to crawl and pull up on things both in a few days. She has gotten fast with the crawling and can almost beat me to whatever she has set her sights on.

// My job has been super demanding right now and is so busy that by the time I get home I am ready to crash. I hope that everything slows down soon.

I hope to be back tomorrow for my favorites!!

Our Favorite Bows

Monday, July 31, 2017

Happy Monday! Where did this weekend go? Seriously it was just Monday....
Since the weekend is over and it is time to actually dress Charlee in clothes instead of pajamas I wanted to share some of our favorite bow companies. We have a serious bow addiction over here. We get two monthly subscriptions and also purchase from a few etsy shops here and there. I am trying to get both nylon headbands and clips so we can wear both then I will eventually change them all to clips.

Monthly Subscriptions

Every month we get a pretty purple package from Purple Rose Bows. They have three fantastic bows that usually go with whatever holiday is coming up. This month they threw in some pineapples and good bold summer colors. I love this since summer is almost over we can throw together some nice last minute summer outfits.  Purple Rose Bows has graciously offered my readers a coupon code. Enter SOUTHERNCHARM25 for 25% off your first month of bows.

Every month we also get another package from Little Poppy Co. They are another great subscription. We get three bows sent right to our door that we can wear all year long. They usually throw in some festive bows to match whatever holiday is right around the corner. Make sure if you sign up to follow the link above for my referral link.

Etsy Shops

Shelby Chic Boutique is a favorite of mine. You guys know that I am all about the sparkle and her bows..... Guys they are to die for. They range from neutral to bold colors and man oh man they sparkle. I am hoping to get my hands on one of everything! Plus she has top knots in her shop and well I may have to start getting one a week. J shouldn't notice just one right?

I love sparkles but my second fav will forever be bold bright colors. Man do I not love some highlighter pink and orange... These fabric bows from lil ama are to die for. They are so adorable and this is anther shop that I would buy out. Her watermelon and strawberry bows would be great for summer parties.

The last bow shop that I gush over is Elii Nik. These bows are absolutely adorable. The felt flowers are to die for. I love the sweet color combos and can believe that I don't have one of everything.

What are your favorite bow shops or subscriptions?

Charlee margaret | 6 months

Welp.  That was the fastest 182 days of my life.
It literally feels like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. Here we are an entire half of a year gone by.  We are smack dab in the middle of her first summer. We are so close to her first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and then her First Birthday.
Time you are the biggest thief ever!
Oh Charlee girl you are the sweetest, silliest, happiest, baby girl that I have ever been around. She is content playing by herself but loves when she catches you looking at her. She give you the biggest gummiest smile that you have ever seen.

Charlee at SIX months
Weight: 12 pounds 7 ounce
Birth: 7 lbs 7 oz
Height: 24.5 in
Birth: 19. in

Taking Charlee to the doctor each time that turned into quite the family outing. We love being able to talk to this girls doctor and realizing that she is quite ahead of herself in the smarts department. She is entirely to big for her britches and I wish she would slow down some.
She has gained one pound since her four months check up which is moving in the right direction. She is still small and petite but what can we do about it.

Dr. McNally gave her the once over and listened to her lungs, checked her ears, and stuck the stick down her throat- almost all clear!  We went in a couple days before because she was pulling at her ears a little and she did still have some fluid, but no infection.  So, we are glad that we are moving in the right direction.
She was impressed with her sitting ability, attentive demeanor and how calm she was while she checked her out.
We talked about beginning solids and Dr. M was on board with BLW and I am so excited to start.  This girl is ready and her mama is, too! She is eating purees but she is so interested in normal people food.
I do plan to share my learning experiences along the way with this- so stay tuned!

  • Sitting.  She's almost perfected the seated position and will sit unassisted pretty well for several minutes while she plays.  Still a work in process, but she's got a really strong core, so it won't be long before she's able to do it all the time on her own.
  • Mickey is her homeboy.  She shouts, screeches, yells, giggles, stomps her feet, and makes the funniest outbursts at the television when he is on.  It really is so funny and so strange how quick these babes pick up on the glories of Mickey Mouse.
  • Speaking of giggles: she laughs all the time on a regular basis. She thinks people are so funny and is intrigued by the things people do.
  • Loves to play.  She prefers to play either in her exersaucer or on the floor.  She LOVES tummy time!  She rolls all over the place to get to where she needs to go and plays with anything in arms reach.
  • Recognition.  She definitely recognizes faces now.  She started this a little last month- but this month she knows and recognizes her people: Daddy, Momma, Bebe, PapPap, Ninnie, and PawPaw
  • She really loves her mama.  She likes her daddy pretty well, but when I walk in two her eye's line of view she gets so excited. Her gummy grin makes me laugh.
  • Reaching.  She's started reaching out to be held.  It is the sweetest.
  • Airplane.  She's not crawling yet but she will lift her whole chest, arms and head/neck off the floor and kick and scoot her legs like she wants to go somewhere.
  •  She is still a social little girl and wants to be in the mix of everything all the time- so when we leave her sight of view she is noticeably upset, depending on what she's doing or her mood.
  • Teething.  Still working on her two bottom teeth.  She is busting them both at the same time- and sweet girl is working them with her mouth, tongue, lips, and anything she can get her hands on to stick in her mouth.  You can see those teeth just barely under the gums.  Wont be long!
  • She still totally digs the ergo.  I wear her any time we go out and she will snuggle in and snooze.
  • She a big fan of her fingers and feet- if she can see her toes they are going in her mouth!
  • Bath time is her FAVORITE.  If she is fussy- which happens often in the evenings close to bed time, I stick her in the bathtub and her entire attitude changes.  She loves it!  I think once she's sitting up in the bathtub she will love it even more.
  • Diaper changes have become nearly impossible.. the moment you lay her over on her back she is hard pressed to flip herself over to her tummy.
  • Baker is still in size 1 diapers- I just bought some size two diapers .Wearing some 0-3 months clothing still.. but growing into and fitting better in 3-6 months and 6 month Carter's clothes.

3-4 hours is still the norm between feedings, eating 5 to 6 times every day.  We have been sort of all over the place because her wake times have not been very consistent- but here's the typical: 5-6am every morning when she wakes and then 9am, 1-2pm, 5pm, 8pm before going down for the night.  MOST of the time we hit this schedule pretty well- and for the most part I like the stick to it pretty strictly during the work days away .  So it keeps her on a good schedule and me, too!  I do want to mention that she rarely spits up these days which is such a relief.  I do think she really had a problem with reflux.   We started zantac twice a day two months go and we have seen a huge difference in her eating habits.
We will start solids this week- so I'm sure her eating schedule will tweak a bit then! I am reallllly excited about this!

The biggest change in this area is her consistency and improvement in last month's skills.  She can pick up her toys or objects and flips them over and back to see what it looks like from all sides.  Her balance has improved and she can sit for longer periods of time. Charlee definitely prefers being on her belly and has learned to maneuver herself from a wobbly sitting position to her tummy.  She can't stand to be in one place and being on her stomach allows her to barrel roll all over the place.  She is extremely curious and is constantly finding objects to play with. I purchased some new toys that will help her want to sit up and play with them. So far they are working and she is building core strength. Such a big girl....

We are still under mass confusion in this department.  Some nights she gives me every bit of 14 hours and other nights she's awake every two hours.  I have realized that I've created a monster of a bad habit in feeding or rocking her to sleep and not allowing her to self soothe.  For some reason this came to light when the nurse asked me if she self soothes to sleep..
um, no?
There is a combination of several things I think that wakes her at night.  She has been congested for what seems like forever.  She had a little bit of a cold..which has turned into this terrible cough..and then she started teething..coupled with this runny nose.    We have tried lots of things to get through the night with a decent nights sleep.  Bedtime is about 7:30pm.  Typically she will sleep until about  5am-6am and wake to eat .  This is a good night!   Lately she's been napping two solid naps during the day (depending on when she woke it is typically about 9:30-10am and around 1pm) and one cat nap late in the afternoon of 45 minutes around 4:30pm every day.
Most of the time we nap really great for 2 solid hours and then sometimes its just one hour.  Or even 30 minutes.  AND THEN occasionally I am fighting her for an hour just trying to get her to go to sleep for longer than 10 minutes.
The sleep struggles are real.
..and confusing.
