Meal Prep

I wanted to take some time today to talk about my new Sunday schedule. Since we are going to the gym fourish days during the work week I don't have that much time to cook during the week. So I turned to meal planning to save the day. Yall this is a game changer when you are busy. I went to google and did some research and have finally come up with a game plan and now I have meal prep down to a science. Listen guys the first few weeks it took me all day long to make enough meals to last us from Monday to Saturday.... Then I got smart and mixed veggies and carbs while staying with the same proteins. I found blogs that gave me recipe ideas and found some really great inspiration on Pinterest. Here are my favorite three clean eating blogs.

Here are a few tips on how to become a meal prep queen.

* If you need to start with one meal per day. This meals one healthy meal that you have already prepared and can just put out of the fridge and heat up. In my opinion lunch may be the easiest to start with. But make that dish the cleanest that you can. Meaning no processed food at all.

* Healthy eating is easier if you only shop the exterior of the grocery store. Meaning you only get a few things from the middle of the grocery store aisles. Most of the things that you purchase will be from the outer walls of the store. Protein, veggies, yogurts, and fruit are all found on the exterior of the store. You will need to get a few starches from the inside but most items you should be able to get from the  outside aisles.

* You need a million containers... I purchased the great value meal prep containers at walmart. You get a pack of 15 for like 10 bucks. I go ahead and portion food out in those containers so all I have to do is grab and go. I make ever meal but breakfast on Sunday for the whole week. For breakfast I usually cook egg whites and toast. I do cook turkey bacon on Sunday so all I have to do is heat one piece up each morning.

* Make the best out of all the meats and veggies that you have. Mix and match to keep it interesting. So don't make every meal the same in the containers. Mix up the proteins and veggies.

I hope these tips help you some. I will share my eating schedule more next week and a few workouts that I have been doing at the gym.
